Barbara Windsor’s husband Scott starts his marathon training with ex-Eastender Kellie Shirley as he prepares for charity run with soap cast
Scott has joined forces with eight of Barbara’s cast mates to raise money for Dementia Revolution after it was revealed the legendary British actress is battling Alzheimer’s.
They are two of nine runners – calling themselves Barbara’s Revolutionaries – who will run the London Marathon on April 28 to raise £100,000 for the charity.
The campaign was set up by Alzheimer’s Research UK and the Alzheimer’s Society.
And Scott and Kellie – who played Carly Wicks in the soap – proved training is in full swing as they stepped out for a jog earlier this afternoon.
Raising awareness of the charity, Scott even sported the the Dementia Revolution vest on his run.
Tweeting after their training session, Kellie wrote: “First 5 mile run in years & feeling pumped
Adam Woodyatt, Jake Wood, Emma Barton, Natalie Cassidy Tanya Franks, Jamie Borthwick and Jane Slaughter are also running in Barbara’s honour.
Barbara, 81, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2014 and last May, bravely told her story to The Sun.

Barbara told The Sun: “It means so much to me to see some of my closest friends coming together to support this cause.
“And I know it will mean a lot to everyone else living with dementia.”
The run came after Scott revealed the 81-year-old TV legend is now often confused about where she is and requires 24-hour care.
