A Dubai water park is set to become one of the biggest in the world – by installing a 112ft tower that will house 12 slides.

Atlantis Aquaventure water park at Palm Island already has 20 rides and rivers spread across 17 hectares. The new attractions, when they’re finished in the summer of 2020, will expand the park by 30 per cent.

It is promised that the new rides will ‘entertain everyone from little daredevils to water park veterans’.

The tower will be called ‘Trident Tower’ and will be the third of its kind to open at the water park.

One of its new slides will be the Mammoth Blast, which is described as a ‘449-metre family adventure water coaster that delivers uncompromising force at unprecedented speeds’.

Riders will enjoy the slide on rafts and will experience back-to-back curves, drops and uphill climbs powered by water propulsion technology.

Another ride is the dueling Pipeline Blast/Flying Saucer 20 hybrid ride.

Driven by ‘patented sequential jets’, this high-speed slide rockets dueling guests through gravity-defying turns and around wide-open saucer features at maximum velocity.

While the new Rally Racer 32 slide will allow guests to race each other to the bottom on neighbouring lanes.

There will also be an updated version of the Leap of Faith slide, comprising two lanes rather than one with each dropping the guest more than 34 metres (111ft) at stomach-churning speeds.

The expanded section of the water park will also feature a new children’s area, with highlights including four mini versions of adult rides.

Young ones will also be able to traverse the new Kidz Tornado 24 and the Kidz Bowl 14 slides.
