From California’s Glass Beach to Japan’s Cat Island, the strangest places to take a holiday revealed
One such place is the Japanese island of Aoshima where cats outnumber humans by six to one, with 16 human residents and over 100 cats, which is now a big destination for a day trip.
Or there’s California’s Glass Beach at Fort Bragg, which is made up from brightly coloured glass pebbles that formed over years from bottles that had been dumped in the sea.
The glass pebbles have now smoothed over, and are safe enough to walk on barefoot.
If you’re after something a little more grisly, head underground in Paris to its catacombs, created in the late 18th century from the bones of dead residents.
