Donald Trump goes off on Michelle Obama’s memoir ‘Becoming’

President Trump on Friday fired back against former first lady Michelle Obama’s criticism of him in her new memoir — by going after her hubby, his predecessor.

“She got paid a lot of money to write a book and they always expect a little controversy,” Trump told reporters outside the White House, just before departing for Paris.

“I’ll give you a little controversy back. I’ll never forgive [former President Barack Obama] for what he did to our US military by not funding it properly. It was depleted, it was old and tired, and I had to come in and fix it.”

He added, “What he did to our military made this country very unsafe for you and you and you.”

Trump’s comments were in response to Michelle Obama’s new memoir, “Becoming,” which hits shelves Tuesday, in which she writes that she’ll “never forgive” the billionaire for fueling a claim that Barack Obama wasn’t born in the US. In reality, he was born in Hawaii.

“What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? What if that person went looking for our girls?” the mother of two wrote in the book, according to ABC News. “Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this, I’d never forgive him.”
