Woman in her 60s 'crushed by hoarding' outside H&M in Hammersmith

Horrified witnesses said the woman was hit by falling hoarding as she walked in Hammersmith this morning.

She has been rushed to a major trauma centre where she is being treated for injuries to her legs.

One witness said: "All of a sudden we just heard this loud bang. Everyone was desperately trying to get the hoarding off her.

"She was just laying on the pavement and looked unconscious."

The Metropolitan Police said: "A woman in her 60s was treated by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) for injuries to her legs.

"It is believed the woman was injured by a fallen wooden hoarding.

"Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed."

The London Ambulance Service was also raced to the scene at around 10.38am.

A spokesperson said: "We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. We treated a woman at the scene and took her as a priority to a major trauma centre."
