• LeBron James made it clear on Tuesday that he’s a fan of HBO’s Euphoria.
• Euphoria deals with teenage life, and LeBron has a teenage son of his own, LeBron Jr.
• LeBron and Zendaya exchanged tweets.
It’s the offseason now, so, like the rest of us, LeBron James has had some time for watching TV, and it seems like he might even have a new favorite show. He planted his flag on Tuesday: He’s a fan of HBO’s thrilling new teen drama, Euphoria, tweeting his support for both the show itself, and its star, Zendaya.
It’s been a busy year for James. Despite his NBA team—he now plays for the Los Angeles Lakers—not making a trip to the finals for the first time since 2009, his world has increased exponentially, as his move to L.A. has allowed him to expand his media footprint. Not only does he still shine when he takes the Staples Center floor as a Laker (even at the ripe age of 34), but his production company has begun an HBO show (The Shop), and, among other projects, the long-awaited Space Jam 2.
He took to Twitter on Tuesday, declaring the importance of a show like Euphoria. “S/O lil sis @Zendaya and the entire cast from “Euphoria”. Love love love that show. Super dope and a real perspective of what these teenagers have to do with [sic; he corrected to ‘deal with’ in a follow-up tweet] daily. I know it’s a show but real life Parents please listen but more importantly just pay attention to signs!”

Given that LeBron himself is a father—his son, LeBron James Jr, aka Bronny, is 14 years old, and already one of the most highly-ranked basketball talents in the country—it’s fitting that he would be a fan of the teen drama.
Zendaya took a compliment from one of the greatest basketball players of all time in stride, calmly responding to thank him for his kind words. “Thank you for your love and support, appreciate you man,” she said back.

You already know! All ❤️ and support 🙏🏾💯
Granted that LeBron’s offseason with the Lakers has seen both success—his team traded for Anthony Davis, another one of the best players in the league—and, at the same time, failure—they targeted to sign this year’s Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, but he chose instead to sign with the crosstown Clippers—fans in the replies had a bit of fun with the interaction between the star athlete and star actress:
Zendaya to the lakers confirmed
It’s not the first time that we’ve seen LeBron express appreciation for the small-screen arts—last year, he tweeted about how much he loves Netflix’s Ozark, which stars Jason Bateman.
Man I can’t wait for Season 3 of #OZARK!! @batemanjason is incredible as well as the rest of the family Laura Linney @SofiaHublitz @skylargaertner “The Byrde’s”. Also love “Ruth” played by Julia Garner. She’s a gangsta! Great cast all around period!!
