Armie Hammer went into therapy following the ‘seismic’ breakdown of his ten-year marriage.

He admits his mid-pandemic split from actress Elizabeth Chambers hasn’t been easy as the couple try to shield their children Harper, five, and three-year-old Ford.

The Call Me By Your Name star admitted: ‘I don’t think you’ll find anyone in the world who would ever say what I’m going through is an easy thing to go through.

‘A separation like this is a seriously seismic event in someone’s life. And there’s a lot of shifting and a lot of growing pains and a lot of changes.

‘Change is not a bad thing always but that doesn’t mean it’s painless.’

Armie, 34, now proudly sporting a Hulk Hogan-style moustache, continued to GQ: ‘Elizabeth and I are two adults making this decision and the priority is how do we do it in a way that affects our children the least?’

After the split, the Hollywood star went to the Cayman Islands to clear his head, after which he ended up working on a building site.

It was a mate who shipped him off to therapy.

‘I was more or less on my own, just trying to get through it,’ he said. ‘I knew I was not doing a very good job so I called my buddy in the States.’

The friend, who worked in mental health, recommended a therapist and Armie started having sessions twice a week.

‘It just sort of regulated everything and gave me the tools for dealing with things,’ he said. ‘I’ve been in therapy before but this was a dire situation. And now I just think everyone needs to be in therapy, period, across the board.’

Meanwhile, there could be a wait for the sequel to his 2017 gay love flick with Timothée Chalamet. Speaking about Call Me By Your Name’s follow-up, Find Me, he explained: ‘We haven’t got into it. I haven’t even read the book.’

‘It’s like saying Elton’s straight’… Hugh’s wife on ‘gay’ claims

Hugh Jackman’s wife has compared rumours that he is secretly gay to someone saying, ‘Elton John — he’s straight’.

Aussie actress Deborra-Lee Furness, who, at 64, is 13 years older than the Wolverine hunk, tackled the rumours head-on, saying: ‘He’s been gay so many years… I was gay, too, when I did [the film] Shame. They were shocked when I got married.’

She fumed that, if someone said of Elton John ‘he’s straight’, she was ‘sure he’d be p***ed’.

Referring to jibes that she is the one punching in their 24-year marriage, Furness said it was wrong to claim she was ‘lucky’ to have snagged her hubby.

‘It’s actually rude to say that,’ she added. ‘“Lucky” because he’s a stud-muffin, you know, but that’s showbiz and Hollywood.’

Her promotion of the adult website came after it offered free premium subscriptions in some countries to ease the pressure on singletons during lockdown.

Meanwhile mum Sharon, 67, is supporting Kelly’s weight loss surgery.

‘She also stopped drinking and has focused on living a healthier lifestyle,’ said Shaz. ‘She’s unbelievable.’
