The CMT Music Awards have been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The country music-focused awards show, which typically takes place in June, is now scheduled for October 14.

“Our top priority this last month has been rebuilding our hometown of Nashville following the tornado and ensuring the safety of our fans, employees, artists and partners during the COVID-19 crisis,” the organizers announced in a statement.

The statement added, “As we look forward to celebrating country music’s biggest stars together with our community and viewers, we will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and local public health officials.”

Meanwhile, CMA Fest 2020 has been canceled, again due to the coronavirus crisis, while the ACM Awards were postponed to September from April.
