David Beckham and Prince Harry are two very famous dads. Beckham has been a father for over 20 years, and he has four children with his wife, Victoria. Meanwhile, Prince Harry is a new father who just welcomed his first child in 2019 with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
Beckham is clearly more experienced when it comes to parenting, and the soccer legend seems to have been observing Prince Harry’s parenting skills. In fact, Beckham has some nice things to say about how Prince Harry is handling his fathering responsibilities.
Prince Harry dreamed of being a dad for a long time
Prince Harry spent much of his adult life being labeled as a “wild child.” He was often pictured going to clubs and hanging out with different women. Prince Harry also made headlines many times for his various antics.
Despite his image as an eternal bachelor, he had dreamed of being a father for a very long time. In 2012, he shared: “I’ve longed for kids since I was very, very young. I’m waiting to find the right person and someone who’s willing to take on the job.”
In 2016, he also said that he was excited to think about having kids in the future. He said: “I can’t wait for the day. So, you know, it will be fantastic. I’ve got a kid inside of me. I want to keep that. I adore kids. I enjoy everything that they bring to the party. They just say what they think.”
It seems that he finally found the “right person” in Meghan. The couple dated for just a year before getting engaged. In comparison, his brother, Prince William, courted Kate, Duchess of Cambridge for seven years.
How fatherhood has been for Prince Harry
Meghan gave birth to their first child, Archie, in May 2019.
While Prince Harry and Meghan are usually very private about what goes on inside their household, there have been hints here and there about what kind of a father Prince Harry is.
For instance, a source shared several months ago that Prince Harry is a very hands-on dad. He was also helping Meghan a lot during her pregnancy and when she needed to adjust to day-to-day life after childbirth.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry also has less complaints about fatherhood compared to his older brother, Prince William.
David Beckham has talked to Prince Harry about fatherhood
Prince Harry and Beckham have been close friends for years. The two of them have done a lot of charity work together, and the Beckhams were even invited to Prince Harry’s wedding.
As such, many fans were wondering if Beckham revealed that he did talk to Prince Harry about the parenting life, especially after Prince Harry and his wife decided to move to North America.
“I haven’t spoken to Harry about him moving,” Beckham told Entertainment Tonight. “I think he’s enjoying being a young father for the first time and that’s what we always spoke about. When you are a parent, it changes everything for you. He always needs to be happy.”
David Beckham thinks that Prince Harry is an ‘amazing’ father
Beckham has been raising four children, so he definitely knows a thing or two about what it means to be a good father. The 44-year-olds seems to approve of Prince Harry’s parenting skills.
Beckham recently raved about his friend to Entertainment Tonight, saying: “We love him and he’s an amazing person — and that’s the most important thing — but I’m proud to see him growing up as an individual and being that person that every father wants to be. Every father wants to be loving to their children and that’s what I see with him.”
