Country music star Kacey Musgraves has vowed to “do whatever” she can to stop racism.
“It’s been hard to find the words to adequately convey how outraged and sad I am. WHITE PEOPLE HAVE HAD IT SO F**KING WRONG SINCE THE BEGINNING and I will do whatever I can I help break the DISGUSTING, damaging cycle racism and systemic privilege causes. I will not be a bystander,” Musgraves tweeted.
Musgraves is also one more than 920,000 people who’ve signed a Change.org petition urging police to ban the use of rubber bullets.
“There have been various occurrences where peaceful protesters have been shot with rubber bullets by the police, despite them doing nothing wrong to begin with. Multiple people have been majorly injured from these rubber bullets!” reads the petition.
Protests are being held in cities across the country following the death of an unarmed black man named George Floyd in police custody.
