Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Khloe Kardashian has lead celebrity mourners as she revealed her shock over Kobe Bryant’s reported death.

According to reports, the 41 year old NBA star tragically died after the basketball legend’s helicopter crashed in Calabasas, California on Sunday morning.

Taking to twitter to express her shock, the 35 year old reality superstar wrote: “This can’t be real there’s no way!!! My heart hurts,” along with a number of heartbroken emojis.

She later added: “Please don’t let this be True. I’m shaking,” followed by another broken heart emoji. [sic]

Actress Reese Witherspoon said: “Just devastated to hear about #KobeBryant .An extraordinary athlete, and a genuinely kind, wonderful man. Sending love, prayers & compassion to his family. To his entire @NBA family as well.”

Mindy Kaling posted a tribute to the late basketball star as she wrote: “#KobeBryant you were the greatest. You made our city and the rest of the world so proud. Every basketball fan knew the magnificence of the Mamba. Love and healing to Vanessa and those little girls. God, this is just the worst ever.”

Former Glee star Lea Michele added: “So devastating to hear about #KobeBryant Such an incredible athlete and man. Sending love and prayers to his family.”

While former footballer and sports commentator Gary Lineker simply wrote: “No. Please, no.”

The comes after it was reported that the crash which is said to have killed the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar is under investigation.

Celebrity news website TMZ reported: “Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down.

“A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived.

“5 people are confirmed dead. We're told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.”

Meanwhile, the LA County Sheriff's department said all five people died in the helicopter crash on Sunday.

Confirming the death, the City of Calabasas confirmed the news with "great sadness". It said "nobody on the ground was hurt".

Kobe’s incredible sporting achievements included being named the 2008 NBA Most Valuable Player and two-time NBA Finals MVP.

He also had two of his jerseys retired, number 8 and 24, when he retired from the game – an honour that no other Lakers player in history has had.

The sporting legend’s achievements didn’t just happen on the basketball court, either, as he was awarded an Oscar for best short animated film in 2018 for his flick Dear Basketball, a five-minute film based on a love letter to the sport.
