Fans mourned NBA legend Kobe Bryant on Sunday at the Staples Center, hours before the 2020 Grammy Awards are set to begin.

With some dressed in Bryant’s No. 24 jersey, Lakers fans paid tribute to the fallen athlete, who was killed Sunday morning in a helicopter crash at the age of 41. His 13-year-old daughter Gianna and Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli were also among the dead, according to TMZ.

Flower arrangements were left outside the Staples Center — where Bryant played as a Laker before retiring in 2016 — with arrangements featuring the team’s colors, purple and white. A basketball was also left at the memorial.

Members of the sports community also paid tribute to Bryant on social media, including fellow Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal.

“There’s no words to express the pain Im going through with this tragedy of loosing my neice (sic) Gigi & my brother @kobebryant I love u and u will be missed. My condolences goes out to the Bryant family and the families of the other passengers on board. IM SICK RIGHT NOW,” he tweeted.
