Maura Higgins looked bored and glum as she celebrated her Love Island success with friends back home in Ireland.

The 28-year-old grid girl returned to her native town of Ballymahon in County Longford for a night on the lash with pals, but didn't seem to be in the party spirit.

She scowled as she left one bar and walked down the street, sheltered from fans' view by a burly bodyguard.

The reality star, who came in fourth place with Curtis Pritchard at Monday's Love Island final, wore a plunging blue denim mini dress with ankle boots and a belt as she reunited with the friends she hadn't seen for the last eight weeks.

But Maura didn't seem to be enjoying herself very much as she strode down the street to her next watering hole.

Sort-of boyfriend Curtis was nowhere to be seen in the early hours of Friday morning, as it's believed he had already flown home to London after a brief visit to meet Maura's family.

"She was home and celebrating with her family and friends. She's a local of Ballymahon, so this would be one of her locals I suppose," a witness told our sister paper the Irish Daily Mirror.

"It was a private party for family and friends. I'm sure at another stage there might be more celebrations but it was for family and friends.

"It was a great night had by all."

The witness added: "The whole town is behind her we showed the final here and we had a huge crowd.

"Her family love to see her have support and the whole town are behind her.

"She's local and has loads of friends here so everyone was out to wish her well. It was fantastic, and it was nice to have her home."

Maura and Curtis are set to reunite tomorrow night for the episode Love Island: The Reunion episode.

The one-off show, hosted by Caroline Flack, will catch up with each of the finalist couples and see what they've been getting up to since leaving the villa a week ago, including their trips home to introduce their new loves to their families.
