After announcing the news at the beginning of October that they are expecting a baby, Meghan Trainor and her husband Daryl Sabara have now revealed the gender of their child.

The singer, who recently opened up on her battle with anxiety, made the special announcement on The Kelly Clarkson show on Tuesday.

Meghan, 26, was in the studio with Kelly, while Daryl, 28, appeared via a video link.

Kelly asked Meghan if she knew if she was having a boy or a girl, to which the Voice UK coach responded: "We've never told anyone … I saved it it for you, Kelly, I love you."

Spy Kids actor Daryl then took over the honour of revealing the gender and announced the couple are expecting a boy.

Meghan admitted during the interview that she thought she was having a girl at first.

"I did all those look [at old wives' tales] online – how fast is the heartbeat? Where do your hips go? And I was like "Oh, it must be this" and I was wrong," she explained.

Despite being over halfway through her pregnancy, the All About That Bass singer told Kelly she is yet to start shopping for her first child.
