Piers Morgan is convinced Spice Girls stars Mel B and Geri Horner were a proper lesbian couple but kept their relationship a secret.
Telly host Piers, 54, managed to get Mel, 44, to admit to their lesbian one-night stand during an episode of his Life Stories show.
However, he thinks Mel and Geri were actually involved in a full-on affair.
He told Heat magazine: "I think it went on a lot longer than one night yeah.
"I think they had a proper thing together for quite a while."That's what I hear."
He went on to speculate that he thinks the reason Geri was reportedly so angry about Mel's sex confession was that she's always kept the romance a secret.
Piers explained: "Mel is openly bisexual and has lots of relationships with both women and men.
"Geri is not. This is probably her only experience with another woman, I guess and she's now married with kids and doesn't want to talk about it.
"They're both coming at it from very different perspectives."
Mel hit headlines back in March when she confessed to a lesbian romp with her bandmate Geri back in the '90s.
Geri, 46, who's now married F1 boss Christian Horner, was rumoured to have been furious about the confession, but Mel inisted they smoothed things over in a phone call.
The pair were later hit by false rumours that they'd been lovers for a year and that Geri was refusing to talk to Mel.
However, Geri spoke out to insist the reports are not true.
A statement released through Geri's representative explained: "It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days.
"Geri is really grateful for your support and loyalty for so many years. She loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanie and Victoria
"She would like you to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.
"Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.
"She wishes you a Happy Mother’s Day.”
