Expect no big Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston reunion tonight at the Oscars, despite Brad presenting at the ceremony tonight! Jennifer sadly isn’t at the Oscars and has no reason to be: She has no nominations this year, ho hum.
Just before the pandemic took the world by storm, Jennifer and Brad went viral when they reunited at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Award for sharing a equal parts passionate and platonic embrace at the ceremony. But the chances of them dating again, despite both being publicly single, is v low. A source made it clear to Us Weekly in September 2020 that Brad and Jen literally laugh about the public’s hope that they’ll reconcile. *le sigh*
“It used to bug them how everyone pulls for them to get back together, but now they laugh it off,” Us’s source said. “The truth is they have each other’s backs. They constantly bounce ideas off each other and share happy news when they have it. They have such a natural, easy energy together.”
A separate source spoke to People after the SAG reunion in January 2020 and said that Jen really has no interest in being Brad’s romantic partner again. Jen “is not dating Brad,” the source flat-out said. “They are friends and happy for each other. They want nothing but happiness for each other. She is happy to have Brad back in her life as a friend, but that’s it.”
Work-wise, Jen did recently wrap the HBO Max Friends reunion special though, so that’s something the world can get excited over. We will likely see that premiere before the end of 2021, if we’re lucky!
You love all the deets on awards season. So do we! Let’s overanalyze them together.
