Fleetwood Mac‘s Stevie Nicks teamed up with Miley Cyrus for “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix).”
The song, which was released late Thursday night, is a mashup of Cyrus’ recently released track “Midnight Sky” and Nicks’ famous song, “Edge of Seventeen,” from her 1981 album, Bella Donna.
“Stevie Nicks has always been my idol & an inspiration. It’s an honor to now call her my friend and collaborator,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself and a younger Nicks performing on stage.
Sharing the same photograph to her social media account, Nicks posted, “Duet with Miley…Magical! Loved singing with her!”
During an appearance on “The Tonight Show” in September, Cyrus told Jimmy Fallon that she contacted Nicks and sought her nod to sample “Edge of Seventeen” in her “Midnight Sky” track, telling her, “I have an alternate melody if you don’t want me to kind of like pay tribute to you and your greatness and how much you’ve inspired me.”
Cyrus added that Nicks told her “You can borrow from me anytime.”
Miley is set to release her seventh studio album Plastic Hearts on November 27.
