DEAR DEIDRE: MAKING eye contact with people is impossible for me. It is becoming a big problem.

I am a guy of 18, quite shy and seriously fed-up with being the way I am.

Recently I found a website that deals with this and to my amazement, there were hundreds of posts from people suffering the same as me.

Sadly, it didn’t really help as it seems there is no cure. I find that depressing.

I don’t want to be like this for the rest of my life. I’d love some advice on how I can overcome it.
