John Travolta has experienced even more heartbreak after it was announced his wife of 29 years Kelly Preston died following a battle with breast cancer.
Kelly, who has not been seen in public for two years, was just 57 when she sadly passed away on July 12 2020, which comes nine years after the couple tragically lost their 16 year old son Jett following a seizure.
The actress and husband John tied the knot in 1991, and went on to have three children including Jett, who was diagnosed with autism, Ella Bleu, 20, and Benjamin, now nine.

The Grease actor, 66, paid tribute to Kelly in a loving and emotional post on Instagram following news of her death.
He also revealed he will be taking time away as he and his children mourn Kelly, while he also thanked the medical staff who cared for the actress.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer.
“She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side.

“Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.
"But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT.”
Kelly and John met two decades after the actor had already suffered tragedy when his partner before her, actress Diana Hyland, died of breast cancer.
They had met on the set of The Boy in the Plastic Bubble in 1976, but the actress, who was 18 years John's senior, was diagnosed and passed away several months later on March 27, 1977.
Before he met Jerry Maguire actress Kelly, the Scientologist also dated actress Catherine Deneuve and had a on-off relationship with Marilu Henner.
By 1991 after a whirlwind romance with Kelly, who had said she wanted to marry him after seeing Grease when she was only 16, the couple were hitched and moved to Maine together with their son Jett being born a year later in 1992.
The couple later gave birth to his sister Ella Bleu in 2000. But in 2009 the family were dealt a tragedy when Jett, who suffered from seizures and had autism throughout his life, died while they were on holiday in the Bahamas.
The family were celebrating New Year at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island, when Jett, who also had Kawasaki disease at 15 months old, had a stroke and died of a seizure despite attempts to resuscitate him on January 2 2009.
John and Kelly were haunted for years afterwards and struggled to get over the death of their eldest son.
The Pulp Fiction star was also embroiled in a $25m extortion case as they were accused by the ambulance paramedic of not calling emergency services sooner due to his Scientology practise.
However, John later decided to drop the case when the judge ordered a retrial, saying he and Kelly wanted to move on with their lives following the tragedy.
The couple also faced further heartache just weeks before they announced they were expecting a third child, when it emerged their two dogs had died in a shock accident at a US airport.
Both family pets were hit by a truck and killed as they were being walked near one of John's five aircraft.
In 2010 the couple announced they were to have a third child, and in November the same year Benjamin was born.
John said at a few years after his son's birth that it had helped the family "re-bond" following the difficult loss of Jett.
"We certainly have bonded together. Certainly, having little Ben has been a beautiful kind of glue for us to re-bond after a tremendous loss," he told People.

Benjamin has featured heavily on John and Kelly's Instagram profile, along with his older sister Ella who has followed her parents footsteps into Hollywood.
The last picture Kelly shared before her death was an adorable tribute to her children and her husband in honour of Father's Day.
"Happy Father’s Day to the best one I know, we love you," the caption read alongside and image of John posing with her, Ella and Benjamin and a second of John and their late son Jett.
When Kelly and John celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary last September, Kelly wrote an emotional message to him online.
She wrote: "To my dearest Johnny, the most wonderful man I know. You have given me hope when I have felt lost, loved me patiently and unconditionally… made me laugh harder than any other human being possible… shared the most beautiful highs and at times low.
"You're a dream Daddio and make life so much fun!!
"I trust my love with you implicitly… with you I know I will always be okay no matter what happens… I love you forever and completely. Happy 28th Anniversary @johntravolta."
