Fashion runs in the family! Uncanny images show how Kitty Spencer dresses EXACTLY like her aunt Princess Diana

  • Model and socialite Lady Kitty Spencer is the niece of Diana Princess of Wales
  • The D&G ambassador has been channelling her late aunt in recent outfits
  • Kitty, 27, wore a green sequin number that resembles Diana’s ‘mermaid dress’

They share the same megawatt smiles, blue eyes and blonde hair.

But good genes aren’t the only thing Lady Kitty Spencer has in common with her late aunt Princess Diana, as these uncanny images show.

As reported by Who What Wear, the 27-year-old model and socialite has been stepping out in a series of stylish ensembles that bring to mind some of Diana’s most memorable looks from her years in the spotlight.

From a show-stopping mermaid gown to a figure-hugging LBD, these images are proof that fashion runs in the family.

Diana made headlines around the world with her blue sequinned Catherine Walker dress featuring a daring thigh split (left, in 1990); while her niece turned heads in a similar design by Temperley London (right, in 2017)

The blue Temperley London jumpsuit Kitty wore to the Walpole British Luxury Awards in November was strikingly similar to Diana’s headline ‘mermaid’ dress by Catherine Walker, worn in Vienna and London in the early nineties.

Dolce & Gabbana model Kitty is the eldest daughter of Diana’s brother Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, and grew up in Cape Town before returning to the family seat at Althorp, Northamptonshire in 2012.

She was recently named as an ambassador for luxury jewellery brand, Bulgari, and has appeared in a string of high-profile fashion campaigns as well as numerous runway appearances.

Kitty, who is signed with Kate Moss’s former modelling agency Storm, is regarded as one of the most eligible young women on London’s social scene.

But in a recent interview with The Times she played down her party girl reputation, saying: ‘I think I’m seen as more of a social person than I am.

‘I prefer my own company. I live on my own and my dream evening is cooking and being in bed by 10pm.

‘I’ve just come back from a weekend on my own in Geneva. I took a pile of books and ignored my emails. I loved it.’
