Meghan Markle is reportedly planning to have a water birth – becoming the first royal ever to do so.
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, broke with four decades of royal tradition when she opted against giving birth at the Lindo Wing in central London.
That's the private maternity unit where Prince William and Harry were born, as well as William's three children with Kate.
It is now claimed Meghan wants to give birth in water.
And there are rumours she is planning to have her baby at her and Harry's new home in Windsor.
The decision for a water birth was apparently spurred by Meghan's respect for alternative medicine.
The Duchess is expected to give birth to her first child in the new few weeks, but an exact due date is not known.
A friend of Prince Harry told the Daily Star Sunday: “Obviously Meg’s into all the homeopathy, so none of us was shocked when we found out she’d been talking about a water birth.
“Apparently she wants it to be as natural as possible: no drugs, no caesareans and so on.
“It’s the next logical step from all her yoga, meditation and so on.
“Obviously when she goes into labour she might end up, medically speaking, having to go the more conventional route.
“But for now a water birth is absolutely her plan, is what they’re saying.”
Meghan and Harry are expected to give fans the first glimpse of their newborn on Instagram .
Royal sources said the couple would “definitely release a picture of their baby on their own Instagram page for their followers to celebrate with them after they have celebrated privately as a family”.
The media will be told when Meghan has gone into labour and when she gives birth.
A statement will then be sent out confirming the baby’s birth, sex and weight.
Possibly two or three days later, it is understood Harry and Meghan will invite some media to Windsor where they now live in Frogmore Cottage for an official photocall.
