Meghan Markle and Prince Harry invited Oprah Winfrey to their $14.5million (£10.5million) Montecito mansion in California during their tell-all interview.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also shared a never-before-seen part of their nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom home – an adorable chicken coop for one-year-old Archie.

And a glimpse of the wooden coop filled with rescue chickens revealed a sweet plaque on the side titled: “Archie’s Chick Inn. Established 2021.”

It comes as Meghan revealed in the interview that she and Harry want to “live authentically” and get “back to basics” after they re-located from the UK.

The former Suits actress also revealed, while sitting in the chicken coop at their Santa Barbara home, that she and Harry actually wed three days before they tied the knot ahead of their “spectacle” in front of the world on May 19 2018.

Meghan told Oprah that the couple called the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and asked him to marry them in private.

Meanwhile the couple’s luxurious home offers a high level of privacy. Neighbours include Oprah, Tom Cruise and Ellen DeGeneres, but even they would have to travel up a long driveway and get through large security gates.

We’ve seen glimpses of the home on video calls, including their 7.38 acres of garden. Archie has his own playhouse, which cost around £5,000 and resembles an English country cottage.

Meghan has previously described her interior style as, “elegant, chic, modern, cosy and inviting.” Rather than pink for a girl or blue for a boy, she reportedly opted for neutral tones to create a tranquil environment for Archie.

While staying at Tyler Perry’s house in LA when they first moved to California, Archie’s nursery had a pared back palette with a white armchair, cot and wooden table. It’s likely the new baby’s room at their sprawling home will be just as Zen!
