Savannah Guthrie is missing her on-air glam squad.
The “Today” host, 48, responded to a Twitter user who criticized her on-air look on Tuesday.
“With what they pay you, can’t you afford a hairstylist?,” the troll said, calling her look “unkempt” and “distracting.”
Guthrie took the comment in stride, commenting back, “We are all doing our own hair and makeup during the pandemic. And yes it shows!”
While plenty of fans came to Guthrie’s defense, the Twitter critic doubled down saying, “I didn’t mean to be mean. I worked in television for 32 years. I was just surprised that the makeup artists would let the hair slide on national tv for two days. You do look great. Its the hair that needs a little love.”
Guthrie has been filming from her family’s Rhinebeck, N.Y., home with daughter Vale, 5, and son Charley, 3, making occasional appearances on the show. She’s also been open on her social media about attempting to master coloring her hair at home and giving herself a manicure.
Savannah isn’t the only on-air personality whose looks have been under a microscope during the coronavirus pandemic. Kelly Ripa has continued to joke about her gray hairs growing in, borrowing her daughter’s clothes and all sorts of improvised solutions to working from a Caribbean island during this time.
She also clapped back at her critics, saying, “To people commenting on our appearance: How dare you and you’re lucky that we actually put clothes on It’s harder than you think to roll out of bed and come to a TV show.”
