THIS week the government introduced tough new measures to keep Brits indoors as the coronavirus pandemic continues to sweep across the country.

Many of us will be looking for things to do around the house to keep occupied as we stick to government advice and socially distance. But which DIY stores are still doing home delivery?

Work in your home that has been put off for months or maybe even years, can finally get the attention it needs.

And the good news is that hardware stores around the country will stay open, as they have been deemed 'essential' stores by the government.

Most of our go-to hardware stores have an online delivery option to some capacity-albeit at a reduced service, for its customers.

Screwfix

Screwfix will still be operating a home delivery service for customers.

The service may-be delayed and the range of goods will be limited in the coming weeks.

To keep customers updated on the status of their deliveries, Screwfix said: "please ensure we have your mobile number in your account when placing an order so you can be updated by SMS."

There will also be a 'click and collect' option available, but only for 'essential' goods.

Wickes

Home delivery will still be available for Wickes customers.

There will be limited availability on some items and Wickes have asked customers to have patient.

In a statement on its website Wickes said: "The safety of our customers, colleagues and the communities we serve is paramount. We are making decisions daily to ensure we protect everyone during this period."

B&Q

B&Q have temporarily stopped taking orders on its website for the time-being, with no clear date being given on when this is expected to change.

Despite this, customers will be able to still click and collect existing orders from the store.

Customers should only go to pick up their order once they've received an email confirming it's ready.

On its website B&Q said: "Thank you for your understanding and support in advance, more information will follow."

Homebase

The Homebase website says they are still open for normal home deliveries.

Home deliveries will be limited to London and estimated delivery times will be up-to five days.

Click and collect has been suspended with the exception of garden furniture, spas, BBQs, garden power tools and essential maintenance products.
