Boyzone will be going their separate ways following their 25th anniversary celebration, according to reports.

Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Ronan Keating and Shane Lynch are tipped to retire as a group following the release of one last album and tour in honour of their late band member Stephen Gately, The Sun reports.

And, just to add fuel to the reporting fire, band member Shane has also retweeted The Sun‘s post about Boyzone going their separate ways too.

This farewell record will reportedly include newly-recovered recordings of songs that Gately made before his death in 2009. His bandmates have contributed new vocals to these tracks, with an eye to releasing them.

Boyzone are also apparently collaborating with singer-songwriters Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith on original tracks for their swansong.

Of course, we should take the reports with a pinch of salt until someone from the band actually confirms or denies them, so Digital Spy has reached out to a spokesperson for Boyzone for more information.

The ‘No Matter What’ band previously confirmed last spring that they would be embarking on a 25th anniversary celebration in honour of their formation in 1993.

2018 will see Boyzone celebrate their 25th anniversary! That’s something that Ronan, Keith, Mikey & Shane are incredibly proud of. Plans are being hatched for new music and lots of touring throughout the year. But next year still seems a long way off so in case you can’t wait, the Boyz are hitting the road for some exclusive UK shows later this summer. Dates and ticketing details will be announced here soon… #boyzone2017

An announcement on Instagram read: “2018 will see Boyzone celebrate their 25th anniversary! That’s something that Ronan, Keith, Mikey & Shane are incredibly proud of. Plans are being hatched for new music and lots of touring throughout the year.”

Boyzone scored six number-one singles in the UK and have been ranked by the Official Charts Company as one of the most successful boybands in the history of the UK pop charts.

The original line-up dominated the pop scene between 1993 and 2000, before Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Ronan Keating and Shane Lynch chose to continue on as a foursome following Gately’s death in 2009.
