Elton John may have shattered records with his Princess Diana single Candle In The Wind but it seems he's found a new candle to love in his life.

The pop icon, who is in the middle of a mammoth farewell tour, is said to has splashed out on countless vagina-scented candles from actress Gwyneth Paltrow.

According to Douglas Little teamed up with the kooky starlet on her Goop brand, Elton ordered the candles in bulk.

Perfumer Douglas said: "Elton John bought a ton of them. Like a lot.

"Like, a lot a lot. He’s a fan."

He added to The Cut: "We have been hounded and stalked by so many people [trying to get one].

"I saw the candle being sold on eBay for a ridiculous price."

Released earlier this month, "THIS SMELLS LIKE MY VAGINA CANDLE" has sold out around the world.

Costing £70 for a single candle, the candle is said to boast "a funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected scent".

Talking about the reasoning behind the bizarre product, Douglas added: "The idea was to do something that was voluptuous and sensual and also provocative and fun.

"The only reason people buy or engage with fragrance is for pleasure, but I think when you look around in the industry there is still a lot of pretentiousness and old-fashionedness.

"That’s what I was trying to avoid."

Admitting the candle doesn't smell like Gwyneth's own private parts like some fans believe, he added: "This idea that the scent is the fragrance of Gwyneth’s vagina.

"That’s not the case. It’s called “This Smells Like My Vagina” meaning the person that’s holding it. It’s speculative and fun.
