The ‘Lose You to Love Me’ singer previously begged fans to help stream her album so that she wouldn’t lose to the rapper’s debut album on the weekly chart.

AceShowbizSelena Gomez‘s wish has come true. Her latest album, “Rare”, eventually comes atop Billboard 200 and becomes her third chart-topping album on the weekly chart. Released on January 10, the record racked up 112,000 equivalent album units in the week ending January 16, according to Nielsen Music. Just under 53,000 units were in traditional album sales.

This is surely a good news for Selena, who really wanted “Rare” to come atop the chart because it was such a meaningful album to her. She even begged her fans to help stream the album out of fear that it might lose to Roddy Ricch‘s “Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial”, prompting her to get trolled by social media users.

As for Roddy’s debut album itself, it falls down to No. 2 with 110,000 units as its breakout hit “The Box” continues ruling music charts. It stays atop Billboard’s Hot 100, holding off another strong contender, Future and Drake‘s “Life Is Good”. Following behind “PEMFBA” is MoneyBagg Yo‘s new album “Time Served” that starts at No. 3 with 66,000 units. It marks his highest-charting album on the chart.

Just like last week, former No. 1 albums occupy the rest of the top 10 spots too this week. Post Malone‘s “Hollywood’s Bleeding” descends to No. 4 with 60,000 units, while DaBaby‘s “Kirk” climbs one spot to No. 5 with 43,000 units. Meanwhile, Harry Styles‘ “Fine Line” takes over the No. 6 position with 41,000 units.

At No. 7, Travis Scott (II)-led project Jackboys’ self titled album has to move down three spots with 38,000 units, as “Frozen II” soundtrack album slips to No. 8 with 35,000 units. Similarly, Billie Eilish‘s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” falls to No. 9 with 35,000 units. Rounding out the top for this week is Young Thug‘s “So Much Fun” with 32,000 units.
