Our long international nightmare is over: Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are friends again.
As unbelievable as that prospect may sound, it’s true! Taylor herself shared the news via Instagram on Tuesday (May 8) as she geared up for the launch of her ‘Reputation World Tour’ in Glendale, Arizona.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Taylor walked fans through her preparation for the big night, concluding with a stop in her dressing room — where she revealed a literal olive branch from rival Katy.
“So, I just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch,” she said. “This means so much to me.”
A letter was included with the olive branch, but was only partially visible in Taylor’s Instagram video, which read: “Hey Old Friend — I’ve been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and hurt feelings between us.”
Another visible section — and surely the camera angling of this bit wasn’t at all intentional by Taylor — reads: “I’m deeply sorry.”

“There’s a situation. Honestly, it’s really like she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it,” she said. “I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn’t speak to me. I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble.
“It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I’m like, OK, cool, cool, cool, that’s how you want to deal with it? Karma!”
All we can hope now is that this fragile peace holds. This joyous world waits and prays…
