Madison Beer has come a long way since her Twitter discovery by Justin Bieber. For newcomers to the Beer party, the singer got her start when she was retweeted by The Biebs back in 2012 after she posted a video of herself singing the classic Etta James song “At Last.” “Wow. 13 years old!” the “Holy” singer wrote. “She can sing. Great job. #futurestar.” Although the tweet was Beer’s original claim to fame, she really came into her own in the coming years with songs like “Hurts Like Hell” and “Baby.”

While fans patiently wait for the singer’s highly anticipated debut album, Life Support, Beer is still working hard, keeping up with her 21.5 million Instagram followers and tending to other major projects in the works.

In fact, Beer is a member of a super innovative music group that will definitely grab a lot of eyes and even more ears. Keep scrolling to learn more about what the young artist has up her sleeve.

Madison Beer is making a name for herself in the K-pop world

Madison Beer is stepping into the virtual arena with her latest venture. Back in August 2020, HypeBae reported that the “Selfish” singer has lent her voice to Riot Games’ virtual four-member idol group called K/DA. The group consists of four animated avatars who originally appeared performing at a League of Legends event, according to Polygon. While the same four characters always remain the same, the voices behind them sometimes change.

Beer performs as Evelynn, joined by K-Pop singers Miyeon and Soyeon from the group (G)I-DLE, and singer Jaira Burns as the other three characters. The group debuted their first song, “POP/STARS,” in Nov. 2018. The animated music video, uploaded by League of Legends, has 401.1 million views as of Dec. 2020. Beer admitted to not knowing what League of Legends was when the opportunity first presented itself, but told Pride in 2019, “I hope to do more stuff with them in the future because I really, really loved it.”

And she did. In Aug. 2020, K/DA released their sophomore single “THE BADDEST,” followed three months later by their highly anticipated debut EP ALL OUT. The five-track project features performers from all over the world, including TWICE, Kim Petras, Aluna, and (G)I-DLE in addition to Beer. This is a fun direction for Beer, and something for fans to listen to until her debut studio album finally drops.
