Family holidays can be brilliant, but the costs for accommodation and food can quickly add up, which doesn't leave much spare cash for spending on the trip.

The good news is that some hotels are making things a little easier for parents, thanks to year-round deals where kids can eat for free and stay for free… or in some cases, both!

For example, Travelodge has tempting meal deals for kids, while Hilton offers free stays for children who are sharing a room with an adult.

The best part is that because the offers come as standard when booking, they can also be used during the brands' sales, to stretch your budget that little bit further.

We take a look at the hotels where kids can stay and eat for free below…

Hilton Hotels

Kids can stay and eat free at all of Hilton's hotels – across its entire portfolio, from Hilton Garden Inn to Waldorf Astoria.

Under the deal, two children aged up to and including 12 years old can stay for free when sharing a room with an adult.

As for food? All children aged five or younger are entitled to a complimentary lunch and dinner in at least one hotel-operated restaurant (as chosen by the hotel), when accompanied by paying adults currently staying in the hotel.

Travelodge

If you're staying in a Travelodge hotel with a Bar Café, parents can make use of the unlimited breakfast menu for £8.25pp, or the lighter breakfast for £5.95pp.

For each paying adult, two children aged 15 or under eat for free.

Although the budget hotel chain doesn't offer a 'kids stay free' deal, it does regularly have sales which include family rooms from £29, working out at just £7.25pp a night for a family of four.

Holiday Inn

Up to two children aged 17 or under can stay free when sharing a room with up to two adults across participating hotels.

The chain also offers Kids Eat Free deals for children aged 12 and under. This can be for either a group of four children per dining family, or two children per parent for each meal.

The deals are valid on stays at Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Select, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort hotels. The best part is that this includes hotels around the world, not just the UK!

Legoland Hotels

Thinking of treating the kids with a trip to Legoland, but don't live nearby? The Windsor resort boasts two hotels – the Legoland Resort Hotel and Legoland Castle Hotel – and often includes 'Kids Stay Free' deals on short breaks.

It's worth noting that the deal isn't on year-round, but it does appear a couple of times a year.

In fact, firms such as Jet2holidays and TUI often have thousands of Kids Go Free places, and there are deals to be found during the peak school holiday seasons too. Meanwhile, First Choice also offers the deals on all-inclusive getaways.
