Inside the epic 245-day cruise around the world that costs £82,999
An epic cruise around the world might just have become the cruise holiday to top all cruise holidays.
That's because Viking Cruises' Ultimate World Cruise will sail for 245 days – making it the longest ever continuous cruise – while visiting 113 destinations across 59 countries.
In fact, the trip will include every single continent except Antartica.
The only hiccup? You're going to need a bucket load of cash if you want to be on board.
Although there are cabins available on the journey, which sets sail on a round trip from London's Greenwich on Sunday 1st September, you'll need to dig deep into your pockets.
Very deep. As in, remaining cabins start from £82,999pp deep.
Of course that does encompass pretty much every aspect of the holiday including the cruise, your food, drinks, flights (Business Class of course), a Complimentary shore excursion in each port, transfers and three complimentary visa services.
(You can see the full list of what's included below).
Then of course, you'll be visiting some of the world's most incredible destinations, many of which most people only dream of seeing.
The 55,700 nautical mile voyage includes the likes of the Great Barrier Reef, the Amazon rainforest, the Pyramids in Egypt, Machu Picchu and the Norwegian Fjords, just to name a few.
Oh, and that includes overnight stays in 22 destinations.
Then of course there's the ship itself, Viking Sun.
Unsurprisingly it's the epitome of luxury with two swimming pools, a fitness centre, two cinemas, a theatre and LivNordic spa.
Entertainment will also include heaps of lectures from Viking Resident Historians shedding light on each destination's history, art, architecture, music, geopolitics, natural world and more.
There will also be live musical performances.
Feeling peckish? There are eight different dining options but each day will offer a brand new menu – the cruise line anticipates that around 680,000 meals will be consumed throughout the voyage.
Guests for whom the length of the journey might prove an issue – 245 days is a long time of course – there are options to sail on shorter segments of the Ultimate World Cruise.
For example, you could opt for the 127-day Viking World Treasures sailing from London to Los Angeles in 2019 (prices from £41,390pp) or the 119-day Viking World Wonders sailing from LA to London in January 2020 (prices from £32,990pp).
