From bold pink patterned carpets to Wild West wagon-inspired beds, one wacky hotel in California promises to leave a lasting impression on guests.

The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, California, has 110 themed rooms with each uniquely decorated. 

The Caveman room is adorned with animal prints, a rock pond and stone-age clubs while the Gypsy Rock room features a multi-coloured ceiling apparently inspired by a gypsy’s scarf.

The Yahoo room at the Madonna Inn features a wagon-inspired bed and cowboy-themed trinkets that are dotted around the suite

The Madonna Suite apparently ‘captures the true essence of the Madonna Inn’, including the custom pink rose carpet

One of the more bizarre rooms is the ‘What’s Left’ room. 

The bedroom features an eye-popping patchwork of fabrics, carpet and wallpaper collected from other rooms so that nothing really matches.

Continuing the theme, the hotel’s dining room is equally as kitsch with hot pink leather booths, elaborate lighting and a swirling rose patterned carpet.

The tennis courts outside also feature hot pink surfacing in lieu of the traditional green.

The website states that the Mini Maxi room is ‘adorned in warm tones of passionate colors, the king bed is positioned in front of an elaborate rock fireplace, creating soft shadows of light during the evening’

The website states that the ‘western influence of a quaint coastal town just north of the Inn is reproduced in Cayucos Queen. The sage green color scheme and wood paneling compliment the two double canopied beds’

The Gypsy Rock room features a very bright ceiling which was apparently inspired after a gypsy scarf 

The Madonna Inn, which sits on a 1,000 acre ranch, first opened its doors in 1958.

Thanks to its novel interior design, the family-run motel quickly became a much-talked about landmark. 

Today, many tourists stop by to take photos in the hotel lobby and use the over-the-top styled bathrooms. Rooms at the Madonna Inn start from around $200 (£147). 

Other on site amenities include a bakery, spa and fitness centre. Guests can also go horseback riding on the ranch.  

The Lucky Rock room has natural stone walls, a tiger print carpet and rock shower. The website says it was designed for a ‘change of pace’

The Bridal Falls room was inspired by the Bridalveil Fall in Yosemite National Park with natural rock detailing
