Liverpool fans forced to hire PRIVATE JETS for Champions League final in Kiev

Direct flights have now sold out and the fastest normal routes, which involve changes, are now priced at over £1,400.

The most expensive flight on Skyscanner on Iberia via Barcelona comes in at £3,051 to fly return from Heathrow.

As a result fans have been enquiring about hiring the pricey planes to watch their team play Real Madrid.

Private jet hire company PrivateFly says they have had a 145 per cent surge in searches from the UK to Kiev in the past week.

Options include a 56-seat VIP Boeing Business jet 737 from Liverpool to Kiev which comes in at £89,930, which would be £1,605 per person with a full plane.

Another option is the a 14-seater Falcon 900 plane from Liverpool to Kiev for £41,000 – although this is much pricier at £2928 per person.

Carol Cork, co-founder and marketing director of PrivateFly said: "We have been absolutely inundated with requests.

"While corporate and VIP planes were booked up weeks ago, a surge in demand is now coming from people who don't usually travel by private jet, but who are determined to find a way to reach the game.

“Many are looking to club together, to charter an aircraft that will seat groups of friends and fellow supporters. Aircraft are available but booking fast.

“That weekend of May 25-27 is set to be the busiest for private jets in Europe all year, with the Champions League Final overlapping with the Monaco Grand Prix, and the start of a UK Bank Holiday and half term.

She continued: “So Europe's private jet fleet is in hot demand.

"Kiev's main airport Zhuliany International is already at capacity for that weekend, so we are now flying customers to Kiev Boryspil, 22 miles away."

Sun Online Travel previously revealed that Liverpool fans are being forced to pay up to £5,350 per night for accommodation for the game in Kiev.
