Staying in a luxury hotel in the Lake District can make for a romantic minibreak with your other half – and now you could get paid to do just that.

The elegant 4-star Daffodil Hotel in Grasmere is offering to pay a couple to come and review how it holds up as a romantic break.

That includes an overnight stay in one of its Lake View rooms, as well as access to its spa facilities, a swish afternoon tea AND a romantic dinner for two.

Oh, and you'll get paid £100 for your troubles (although you'll need to sort your own travel and cover those costs).

All you need to do in return? Give the hotel feedback on your overall experience, from your room to the spa and even what you thought of the food.

It could make for a pretty romantic getaway. For a start, the Lake View rooms a king size bed, an ensuite bathroom, Molton Brown toiletries and a flat screen TV, not to mention you'll get some spectacular views of the scenery.

Meanwhile, the spa has everything you could want for a bit of pampering including a thermal pool, sauna, steam room and Tepidarium, while the afternoon tea serves up heaps of indulgent treats from delectable pastries to mouthwatering sandwiches.

It's not the only foodie treat on offer; you'll also get to enjoy dinner in the lakeside restaurant where the menu boasts everything from caramelised goose to potato gnocchi.

It's worth noting that the stay won't be on Valentine's Day, but you can choose any dates between Sunday to Thursday, before the 31st March 2020, so there's ample opportunity to treat yourself to the free romantic minibreak.

To apply, simply head to the online application form and share the most romantic thing your partner has ever done for you. You'll need to do so by Wednesday 29th January when applications close, and the winner will be revealed on Friday 31st January.
