KIDS can pretend they are in the Polar Express film this Christmas with a stay at a Yorkshire cottage next to a railway line – where they can watch a historic steam engine go by.

The All Aboard cottage, close to the North York Moors, has a private patio where guests can watch the train go by the house.

While not the real Polar Express, similar trains go by, and fans of the 2004 animation film catch watch from the house.

In the film, a young boy spots a mysterious train bound for the North Pole outside his window on Christmas Eve.

Train fans will notice it is The Optimist, Whitby’s steam train, with the timetable online – although previous guests claimed it only happens a few times a day, not making too much noise for anyone in the cottage

A large living area and kitchen are located on the first floor, while two bedrooms downstairs feature a double room and twin room, perfect for families wanting to stay.
