Theme parks will be able to reopen from April 12, with outdoor hospitality resuming for part of the Easter holidays.

This includes other outdoor venues such as zoos, but the lockdown dates only apply to England, not Wales and Scotland.

Self-catered accommodation will reopen from April 12, which includes caravan parks and holiday homes, as long as it is with your own household.

Overnight staycations and hotel stays will resume from May 17 (two households or rule of six from different households) and then from June 21 with no limit on groups.

If you're planning on heading to any of the theme parks across the country during the summer, there are bargains to be had on breaks if you book now.

And if you only want to visit for the day, make sure you plan ahead – many will have ticket offers that are available online only.

Here are some of the best deals for summer 2021:

Alton Towers

The theme park and resort complex in Staffordshire has 2021 short breaks from £168 this summer – and stays at Alton Towers Hotel, Enchanted Village Woodland Lodges and Splash Landings Hotel are all included.

Resort packages include breakfast, evening entertainment and a free round of nine-hole Extraordinary Golf.

Those who want to visit for the day can make savings on day tickets if they book online at least five days in advance. It means a ticket that would normally cost from £53 on the day will be reduced to £34 online.

Thorpe Park Resort

Thorpe Park in Chertsey, home to the SAW, Stealth, Colossus and Nemesis Inferno rollercoasters, currently has 30 per cent off 2021 overnight stays.

The park has great value overnight stays, with breaks at Thorpe Shark Cabins, based on a family of four sharing, from £70pp.

Thorpe Shark Cabins has self-contained cabins that are right on the Thorpe Park resort, so you're just a short walk from the rides and attractions.

Overnight stays include two-day theme park entry, breakfast on the second day, free parking, Wi-Fi and 10 per cent off at the park shops and restaurants.

Guest can also save 30 per cent when they book day tickets in advance, reducing the cost of a ticket from £50 on the day to £35 per person online.

Legoland Windsor Resort

The family theme park Legoland in Windsor has overnight stays in a Legoland Resort or a hotel close to the park from £213.

Breaks include one-day entry to Legoland and breakfast.

The park is also offering up to 40 per cent discount on day tickets booked at least seven days in advance, which means tickets are from just £29 per person.

Chessington World of Adventures

Not only is Chessington World of Adventures a theme park with over 40 rides, it also has its very own zoo and a hotel complex.

Those looking for a family break in and around book an overnight stay at a hotel either on-site or close to the park, with July breaks starting from £223.

Day tickets can be booked for £32 per person.

Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park

Based in Hampshire in The New Forest, Peppa Pig World is part of Paultons Park, with a combined total of 70 rides and attractions across both parks.

Peppa Pig World is planning to open on March 19 and those who book a Paultons Park break can stay for two nights at a nearby hotel and save up to £50. Guests also get a second Park Day entry for free. Breaks start from £73 per person.

Gulliver's Land Theme Park Resort

A great option for families with younger kids, Gulliver's has over 50 family-friendly rides, shows and attractions.

The park currently has day tickets for £19, and it's worth keeping an eye on Wowcher, who frequently offer discounts on family tickets to the parks.

The Stay & Play packages typically include overnight accommodation and theme park entry for up to four people.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Head to Blackpool's South Shore for a day spent at its Pleasure Beach theme park, famous for being the home of the legendary Big One rollercoaster.

The park is planning to open for its 125th season later in the year and those who book tickets in advance online can bag reduced price adult and kid tickets from £33 per person.
