We all know that feeling of wanting to book a holiday, but not being sure which destination to choose.
Therefore it's no surprise that there's been a rise in mystery holiday deals – where brave travellers can book a getaway without knowing the destination.
Instead, your location is revealed after you book – although some firms do offer you the chance to get your money back if it's somewhere you really don't want to go.
It can be pretty exciting as you wait to find out where you're going, not to mention that it could be the ideal way of heading somewhere you wouldn't have considered.
(Or you might even revisit somewhere you've been and discover plenty of new hotspots!).
We take a look at some of the best mystery holiday deals worth being on your radar for your next adventure…
1. Wowcher £99 mystery holiday deal
If you're on a budget then you'll want to check out Wowcher's mystery holiday packages, which cost £99pp – including both your hotel and flights.
The vouchers website tends to offer two- and three-night city breaks, but it also has some tempting destinations from Disneyland Paris to Thailand included.
In fact, one lucky lad couldn't believe it when he snapped up a Dubai break for £99pp!
The price is based on two people sharing so you'll have to buy two vouchers, but it still makes for a pretty budget-friendly break. You can find out more details about how it all works in our guide.
2. Fred Olsen Mystery Cruise
Always wanted to book a cruise holiday but can't decide where to go first?
Fred Olsen takes the hassle out for you with this mystery sailing where passengers only find out the destinations at the last possible moment – ie you'll be on the ship when you discover the next port of call.
In fact in some cases, the Captain is the only one who actually knows where you're all headed!
It can be quite a thrilling way to get a taster of the places you can visit, plus it makes for a fun bonding experience with your fellow passengers who are equally kept in the dark.
Prices from £699pp for seven-night cruises.
3. Shearings Mystery Breaks
Shearings' mystery breaks can make for a great value holiday with four, five and eight-day trips with half board options.
You only discover your destination a week before your departure date – but this of course gives you some time to plan what you're going to pack which is useful!
You can choose from both weekend and mid-week breaks, but if you don't like to be completely in the dark you can get some say over your destination.
For example, you can choose mystery breaks in Scotland but you won't know if you're headed to Edinburgh or the Highlands!
Prices start from £139pp for weekend breaks.
4. Saga Mystery Cruise
Every year Saga offers up a tempting mystery cruise sometimes on board ships from its own fleet, or sometimes teaming up with other cruise lines such as Fred Olsen.
For example, previous mystery cruises on board Saga Sapphire saw passengers completely kept in the dark about the ports of call – only the Captain and crew knew the destinations (and no, they're not easy to crack if you try and get them to spill the secrets).
For 2019, Saga is offering up mystery cruises on board Fred Olsen's Black Watch from £1,349pp which includes your cruise, all port taxes and fees, a drinks package, tourist visas if required, and even VIP door-to-door travel service anywhere on the UK mainland. (It also includes optional travel insurance or a price reduction if not required).
