Universal Studios is getting a new Jurassic World ride and it sounds terrifying
Universal Studios Hollywood is getting a brand new ride, and it's sure to be a hit with those who love dinosaurs !
The park is welcoming Jurassic World – The Ride , an immersive attraction that features animatronic dinosaurs and an 84-foot waterfall drop, making for what sounds like a terrifying thrill.
The new ride will see guests boarding specially designed rafts to go through the Jurassic World park, where they can meet docile creatures as the Stegosaurus and Parasaurolophus.
But then, the action kicks off as predators from Velociraptors to Dilophosaurus begin to wreak havoc, facing off in an epic battle against the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
As you try to escape, the raft spills down the treacherous waterfall – and it's the only means of escape.
The ride will feature an original storyline, and Universal has promised "ground-breaking technology that has yet to be experienced within a theme park".
But that's not all there is for fans of the Jurassic franchise.
For a start, the ride's in-queue videos will feature heaps of facts about the dinosaurs (including those within the ride), so you can find out more about the terrifying creatures which first roamed the earth over 65 million years ago.
Then, there will be Universal's 'Raptor Encounter' where you can go and meet Blue, the beloved and deadly Velociraptor from the Jurassic World films , alongside her fellow raptors.
Meanwhile, smaller children who may be too young for the terrifying dinosaur adventure haven't been forgotten about.
The theme park will be introducing a new interactive 'Dino Play' area where you can learn all about dinosaurs through fun excavations and giant dinosaur fossils.
Jurassic World – The Ride is due to open in summer 2019 although the park hasn't yet confirmed the exact opening date.
Filmmakers Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow and Frank Marshall are helping to re-imagine the brand new ride alongside Universal Creative, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), a division of Lucasfilm, Ltd., the brand stewards at Universal Pictures.
