- Parcel landed beside a parked car on the edge of the Churwell, Leeds home
- Driver was a ‘temporary substitute’ who has been sacked following complaints
This is the moment a lazy Hermes delivery driver was caught casually tossing a package into a customer’s front garden on camera.
CCTV shows the driver pulling up outside a property in Churwell, Leeds at around 12.50pm on Sunday before throwing the parcel into the front garden.
It landed beside a parked car on the edge of the property, while a ‘proof of delivery’ photo only showed the front of the package.
The driver was a ‘temporary substitute’ who was sacked after the customer complained to Hermes, a spokeswoman for the delivery company said.

More than 150,000 customers have left unhappy reviews on the Hermes Trustpilot page, with many complaints relating to parcels which have been marked as delivered but which are nowhere to be found.
After Sunday’s lazy delivery, neighbour Jonathan Hunter uploaded the footage onto social media and wrote: ‘Hermes parcel deliveries continue to leave me speechless.’
One person said: ‘I feel your pain, they did exactly the same to me a few months ago. I made another order on 12th November, and I still haven’t received my parcel.
‘Their service is absolutely rubbish, and I can’t find a way to contact them either.’
Speaking today, Mr Hunter said: ‘Its an older neighbour’s parcel that doesn’t have social media, and can’t find a way to contact them [Hermes] by phone.’
He added: ‘Roughly a dozen other people in my area have had similar experiences so I really wanted them to look into it.’
A spokeswoman for Hermes said: ‘We have apologised to [the customer] for the inconvenience and she has accepted a good will payment.
‘The courier in the video was a temporary substitute for the regular round holder and will not be delivering on behalf of Hermes again.
‘Our local teams are working hard to continue to safely deliver during these difficult times and we thank everyone for their ongoing patience and support.’
