The homeless woman who was living out of a tent on the Upper West Side was busted last month on felony charges in the murder of a teen in the South Street Seaport, The Post has learned.
Amber Wilson, 35, made headlines this week for taking up residence inside the tent at West 86th Street and Broadway with partner Devonte Rose — a set-up that was dismantled by cops Wednesday afternoon amid complaints from neighbors.
But sources told The Post that wasn’t the first time Wilson landed in the news.
Just weeks prior, Wilson was charged with concealing a human corpse after 19-year-old Rosalee Sanchez’s body was found wrapped in plastic in the abandoned Fulton Fish Market on March 6, the sources said.
Two other vagrants, Austin Boehm, 25, and Christian Mercado, 20, were also charged in connection with Sanchez’s murder.
Wilson was arrested on March 6 and released without bail on a trio of felony charges for allegedly helping hide Sanchez’s body, court records show.
“I was there and Austin and The Beast told me to wrap up her body with the tape and the plastic and then I put a metal sheet over her body,” Wilson told police in an apparent reference to Mercado, according to her criminal complaint.
She’s due back in court May 10.
Sanchez, who was also homeless, was beaten with a shovel and metal pipe, stabbed numerous times and strangled, according to prosecutors.
Her body was wrapped in plastic garbage bags, dumped in Lower Manhattan, before being discovered by her boyfriends more than a week later.
Wilson, who originally from Maryland, was living in the neglected warehouse with Boehm and Mercado. The trio admitted to the crime, cops said.
