Man, 47, charged with murder after dad, 41, stabbed to death in the street

A 47-year-old has been charged with murder after a dad was stabbed to death.

Dean Allsop, 41, was knifed in the chest on April 14 – tragically dying from his injuries.


Three others – including his partner Louise – were also taken to hospital with knife wounds.

James Crosbie, 47, has now been charged with one count of murder.

He was also charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm and three counts of possessing an offensive weapon.

Crosbie has been remanded into custody to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Armed officers had been called to the scene in Thorpe St Andrew on Wednesday night following reports of a disturbance involving a number of people.

Dad Dean was found fatally injured, with a post-mortem since concluding his cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.


Locals described Dean paid tribute to the late father, saying he had a "heart of gold".

A second suspect, a 17-year-old male, was also arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

He was then further arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after questioning but has since been released under investigation.

The Allsop family were said to have moved to the area around ten-years-ago from Essex.

Thorpe St Andrew is a small town with around 13,000 residents and sits beside the River Yare on the edge of the Norfolk Broads.
