Just a day after their lavish Windsor wedding yesterday speculation is rife about when the Duke and Duchess will welcome a child into the world.

Now an author who wrote a book about Meghan Markle and her rise has said he believes the former actress will be pregnant very soon.

Andrew Morton told the Daily Star on Sunday: "I think that even before Meghan has learned how to spell Leicester and Torquay she'll be starting a family.

"She's not really going to be available for working for the Royal Family on a full time basis until she's 40, I'm sure."

The author studied Meghan's life while researching his new book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.

However the happy couple are delaying their travels for a series of royal engagements as a further break from tradition sees them getting straight back to work.

Prince Charles’ 70th birthday patronage garden party at Buckingham Palace will be the first event they attend as the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Tuesday.

The outdoor event marks the heir to the throne's milestone birthday – which falls in November – by recognising Charles' patronages and military affiliations as well as charities supported by the Prince of Wales.

During their engagement interview that was broadcast back in November 2017, they were both asked about their plans for kids.

Prince Harry said: “One step at a time, and hopefully we’ll start a family in the near future.”

Previously, in 2015, he told Today: “Of course, I’d love to have kids right now, but there’s a process that one has to go through. […] It would be great to have someone else next to me to share the pressure.”

So Prince Harry has been keen for a few years, and now he has found his bride-to-be, could be hoping to have one on the way soon.

When in Northern Ireland, Harry and Meghan were shown new baby products by Shnuggle, where Meghan gestured to the display and said “I’m sure at some point we’ll need the whole lot!” – indicating that kids are on her mind too.
