Moped thugs are using their ill-gotten gains to fund extravagant summer holidays in Ibiza, it has been revealed.
Muggers who rob people of their watches and mobile phones are selling the items to pay for luxury trips to Mediterranean party islands.
The latest Met Police figures show a steady increase in moped robberies at the end of spring just before summer begins.

Peter Williams, who runs LCS Security, a private security company, said that between May, June and July the moped criminals become very active before going quieter until the end of August.
‘The amount of moped robberies then start up again from September in time for Christmas,’ he added.
