More than a dozen cats both dead and alive were found in a dirty Long Island home that also had two feet of human feces in a bathtub, a report said Wednesday.
Authorities in Hazmat suits responded to the Nassau County home after a neighbor reported the conditions to police, ABC 7 reported.
Two dead cats and 11 other living ones were found in the home, according to the report. A number of other cats are believed to be hiding in the house.
The woman who owns the house was taken to hospital when police responded to house on Tuesday.
“The house is uninhabitable for humans,” Nassau County SPCA Detective Gary Rogers told ABC 7.
“We took all of the cats out. There’s cats hiding, so we are leaving traps. We are leaving food,” he added.
