Around 60 firefighters raced to the blaze in Orpington, South London, after they were called shortly before 4am this morning.

Eleven buses caught alight at the Farnborough Hill hub, fire officials said. At 6am there were still eight fire engines at the scene.

Police are also attending. No injuries have been reported but people are being urged to avoid the area due to the billowing smoke.

Explosions rang out at around 4am on Thursday.

Amy Spencer tweeted: "Woken up by 10 huge explosions and what looks like a big fire near Sevenoaks road in Orpington."

Another person posted: "Turns out it's the bus garage. Fuel tanks blowing up I guess!"
