Police on Tuesday night opened fire and struck a suspect who shot two people at a Brooklyn housing complex, law enforcement sources said.

The shooting occurred about 9:25 p.m. at the Kingsborough Houses in Crown Heights, sources said.

One person was taken to Kings County Hospital and expected to survive, sources said.

The conditions of the other people shot was not immediately known.

A nearby resident, who identified himself only as Champ, said he saw police helping a man who was shot in the leg when gunfire rang out.

“Then I got the hell out of dodge,” he said.

Champ said that the shooting “was totally isolated” and there were no protests in the area leading up to it.

A gun was recovered at the scene, sources said.
