A MANSION in Devon where Peter Andre got married is set to become the county’s most expensive home ever sold.

Mamhead House, a 19th century Grade 1 listed building, has an asking price of £8million.

Its sale would dwarf the previous record of £5.2million for King’s Nympton Park House near Umberleigh, in 2016.

Mamhead, where singer Andre wed wife Emily in 2015, has 27 bedrooms and ten bathrooms.

The family motto "Ubi amor ibi fides" ("Where there is love there is trust") is carved above the front door and is repeated throughout the house.

Outside a large camellia house overlooks a magnificent Italian sunken garden with a fountain, sundial and seat.

The property also sits over the River Exe, near Exmouth, and has a castle with an underground passage back to the house.

The grounds boast a three-bedroom staff bungalow, garages and outbuildings too.

Estate agent Strutt and Parker are selling the mansion for £7,950,000.

James Mackenzie, of Head of Strutt & Parker's country department told The Sun: "Mamhead is arguably one of the finest houses in the South West and one of the most romantic properties in the UK.

"Its sheer size and architecture makes it truly unique, not to mention its rich history and stunning views towards the coast.

"It's the perfect house to host big parties and weddings."
