President Trump has reportedly submitted written answers to questions from Robert Mueller.
Trump’s legal counsel, Jay Sekulow, said the questions related to the special counsel investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
“The President today answered written questions submitted by The Special Counsel’s Office,” Sekulow said in a statement to The Post.
“The questions presented dealt with issues regarding the Russia-related topics of the inquiry. The President responded in writing.”
The president’s lawyer, former mayor Rudy Giuliani, called for an end to the probe.
“The President has nonetheless provided unprecedented cooperation,” Giuliani said in a statement. “It is time to bring this inquiry to a conclusion.”
Last week, Trump said that he wrote that answers himself “very easily.”
“I write the answers. My lawyers don’t write answers,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
“I was asked a series of questions, I answered them very easily.”
Mueller’s probe has lasted 18 months and his prosecutors have indicted 32 people and three Russian businesses on charges ranging from computer hacking to financial crimes.
