A woman was violently attacked in Kew Gardens Hills in Queens on Monday morning, police said.
The 52-year-old victim was found unconscious at the bottom of an outdoor stairwell near 72nd Road and Kissena Boulevard around 8:30 a.m., cops said.
She had severe trauma to her face and body and may have been sexually assaulted, police said. She was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, officials said.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea tweeted about the incident, warning those in the area to “remain vigilant”.
