Aaron Carter was found dead in his bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California on November 5 aged 34. Now, his manager Taylor Helgeson has said he was “concerned” for his health when they met up at a studio two days before his death.
He said: “He looked thin. He was extremely tired. He just looked like he needed to be doing anything but working.
“He looked like he needed to be taking care of him.”
Taylor, who had been working with Aaron for eight months, added: “He didn’t seem okay physically … [but] mentally, he was the most excited I’ve seen him in months.”
Speaking to Page Six, he went on to say the singer was “very intelligent” but “very conscious” of what people thought about him.
Aaron’s cause of death is yet to be determined amid pending tests, but Taylor doesn’t believe he took his own life.
He said the singer was “prideful and had so much going on”.
The I Want Candy hitmaker spoke about being clean from his well documented drug addiction earlier this year.
In August, Kaila Methven asked the singer about his sobriety following his fourth round of treatment.
He replied: “I think I turned into the real, true authentic version of myself.
“I went into rehab four times and I finally got it right.
The following month, Aaron was back in rehab for the fifth time, but claimed he hadn’t relapsed,
Instead, the popstar claimed he returned as part of an outpatient programme to address his “triggers”.

Almost two weeks on from his death, a death certificate obtained by TMZ said he had been cremated.
The document also states that his cause of death is “deferred pending further investigation”.
Aaron’s ashes will be held by his twin sister, Angel, until his family decide on the best way to honour him.
A final resting place for the late singer is also yet to be determined.
Aaron is said to have been discovered dead by his housekeeper Betty at his California home.
His passing came less than a year after he and his ex, Melanie Martin, welcomed a baby boy.
The popstar is the younger brother of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter.
As part of a lengthy tribute after his death, he wrote on Instagram: “I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz.”
